New beach rules for a safe and fun summer

I feel so incredibly lucky to live in Lake Telemark, especially during these times. I so enjoy walking around the lake, digging my feet into the sandy beach, learning about environmental stuff, fishing (without much luck so far), kayaking, and chatting with neighbors. And the costs for ALL of that? Only $300/year for my entire family!

Yes, the beach and grounds will be open this summer! And, yes, the lake will be swimmable! We will let you know when we get test results and town approval for swimming.

To make sure everyone will be safe while having fun, the Board approved some updated lake rules. It also ordered some fancy new signs that are coming soon.

Check out the new lake rules:

  • Members-in-good-standing are permitted to use Lake Telemark Community Club property.

  • Members must wear or have a wrist band while on Club property. Members have a right to check and make sure you are a member. (Wrist bands are ordered. You'll be getting an email about pick up or drop off in the next couple weeks.)

  • Members are welcome to bring guests who are not Lake Telemark residents.

  • According to NJ State Law, all children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult on Club property.

  • Beach hours: sunrise - sunset.

  • No Lifeguards will be on duty; swim at your own risk.

  • Please leave the beach as you found it (or better than you found it).

  • Please remember to discard your trash and take all personal belongings with you at the end of each beach visit.

  • No fishing in the swimming area.

  • According to NJ State Law, there must be a properly fitting personal flotation device for each and every person aboard a recreational vessel. Children 12 years of age or younger on board must wear a properly fitting personal flotation device.

  • Bathrooms will not be available (for now due to the COVID-19 situation).

  • We expect all members to follow NJ state laws and orders regarding COVID-19. You can check nj.gov for the current rules.

  • No masks while swimming for safety reasons.

Thanks so much for your support and for helping keeping Lake Telemark a lovely, safe space for our families to grow in.
