It has been a long dry spell without party rentals at the Clubhouse. I am happy to say that we are again open for business.
Right now, you can rent the Clubhouse at half capacity with a maximum of 40 people (hopefully this will change soon). You can rent the dining hall and/or the patio picnic area.
The bar will be open ALL SUMMER... with some new rules
Since the whole world became that town from Footloose on March 14th, I have looked forward to this announcement. This weekend the bar at the Clubhouse will reopen!
In order to open, we had to get special permits and these permits, while liberating because they allow us to finally serve drinks outside, place some new restrictions on our operations; we have a few new rules by which we must abide by.
An update on lake treatment
What, no fishing in the swimming area!?
My kids love fishing. They could do it for hours. Whether they catch anything or not is another story! It's about the journey not the destination I guess.
The other day we were at the Clubhouse fishing. A couple other families were fishing, too. It was nice to have some company :)
Jen made her way across the lake on her paddle board. When she arrived, she let us know that there was no fishing in the swimming area. "Why?" I asked.
New beach rules for a safe and fun summer
Yes, the beach and grounds will be open this summer! And, yes, the lake will be swimmable! We will let you know when we get test results and town approval for swimming.
To make sure everyone will be safe while having fun, the Board approved some updated lake rules. It also ordered some fancy new signs that are coming soon.
The first lake treatment of the season is happening tomorrow
The first herbicide treatment for the lake will be applied tomorrow 5/21/2020.
The aquatic specialist from Solitude Lake Management will be here sometime in the afternoon. You may see him out on the lake in an airboat. I have requested that the herbicide be applied via injection under the water to reduce any risk of it spreading outside of the lake from cross winds…
Yes, we are treating the lake this year
I am very excited to let you all know that the Lake Telemark Community Club officially signed a contract for a year-round lake management plan with Solitude Lake Management.
A biologist, specializing in lake management, will be coming to our lake twice a month to conduct assessments and provide treatments as needed…
About invoices, a new fiscal year, and virtual Board meetings
These are trying times right now, and I hope that you and your family are doing well.
I am reaching out on behalf of the Board with some administrative updates. The Board wants you to know that, even though our social activities are paused, the Board is still functioning and doing its best to keep the Club going…
Response to bad press about mandatory lake dues in NJ
Yes, our membership dues are mandatory for those living in the 21 streets of Lake Telemark. Yes there has been bad press about mandatory dues. However, many of these rumors are simply not true. Dues are what our lake communities need to survive! Check out the New Jersey Coalition’s response here.
